“A friend and I were looking for a new and memorable experience up North as we go there often and are familiar with a lot of the towns and lodging options. We were drawn in by the Hedlund Huskies and the off-the-grid setting. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. Being surrounded by so much nature looked and felt amazing. We weren’t sure what to expect with the huskies, all 21 of them, but they were so well behaved and it was a very memorable experience to be around them and to participate in their feeding and play. They howl occasionally during the day and night. Linda was very informative and helpful.”

“The bunkhouse suite was so charming, with lots of personal touches like homemade quilts and local coffee. The beds were very comfortable and the room cozy even with sub-zero temperatures. I learned the fine art of paddling as a team; saw whimsical tamarack trees and “starter-home” beaver lodges, floated quietly along a sphagnum moss bog teeming with flora I’d never seen before, and enjoyed moments of silence (my own) so I could truly listen to what life sounds like in an unspoiled wilderness area and what it means to me: peace. “

“Absolutely amazing experience being out in nature in this beautiful part of the world, dog sledding with the best behaved and best temperament (and gorgeous!) huskies. The trail was spectacular, going through boreal forests and even the most northerly stand of maple trees in USA! Linda and Natalie (our mushers) were fantastic, highly experienced and knowledgeable about the huskies and the forest environment. We got to interact with the huskies after the trip, which was a lot of fun! Thoroughly recommend Points Unknown for a very unique experience.”
